The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic advertises vacancies of various posts for the European Schools and organizes selection interviews for seconded teachers for the European Schools.

Teachers are selected by the Selection Committee (Head of Delegation of the Board of Governors of the European Schools, Inspectors for the primary and secondary cycles of the European Schools, General Director/Representative of the International Cooperation and European Affairs Division Director/Representative of the Personnel Department of the Personnel Office, General Director/Representative of the Secondary Schools Division or General Director/Representative of the Pre-primary and Primary Education Division).

Each member of the Committee is formally appointed by the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
